The background of this research is based on the high emotional pressure and workload, both administrative and in direct patient care, that nurses often face. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. A total of 52 nurses were selected as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using the Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Job Stress Scale, and analyzed using Pearson correlation. The results showed a significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence and job stress, with a correlation coefficient of r = -0.574; p < 0.05. The higher the nurses’ emotional intelligence, the lower their level of job stress. These findings highlight the importance of emotional intelligence as a protective factor against work-related stress and support the enhancement of service quality. Betel leaves are useful for strengthening teeth, eliminating bad breath and stopping gum bleeding. Saliva also affects the pH of the mouth. A decrease in salivary pH can cause rapid demineralization of tooth elements, while an increase in salivary pH can lead to bacterial colonization that can lead to calculus formation. This research aims to determine the effect of gargling boiled green betel leaf water on saliva pH in young adults at KGPM Eben Heazer Bahu. The research location is at the KGPM Eben Heazer shoulder pastor, and the research time is in June 2024. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with a one group pretest posttest design, the sample size is 43 people, with the sample collection method using a random sampling method with inclusion criteria. Data collection was obtained from the results of measuring saliva pH using universal pH test paper, a format for examining saliva pH before and after gargling boiled green betel leaf water. Data analysis used non-parametric statistical tests with the Wilcoxon test method. The research results obtained showed that the average saliva pH value before gargling was 7.14, the saliva pH value after gargling was 7.35, with a difference in the average saliva pH value of 0.21. analysis using the Wilcoxon test shows that there is a significant effect seen from the p value = 0.002 (0.002 < 0.05). This plant is recognized for its medicinal potential, particularly in the treatment of gastritis. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to the presence of several bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and flavonoids. Gastritis is a common condition characterized by inflammation of the gastric mucosal lining. It may result from various etiological factors such as Helicobacter pylori infection, prolonged use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), psychological stress, and unhealthy dietary habits. The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic activity of green grass jelly leaf extract (Cyclea barbata Miers) in mice induced with acetic acid and to assess the protective effects of the extract on the gastric mucosa. This research employed an experimental laboratory method using an in vivo approach with mice as test animals. The results of the analgesic test indicated that the group treated with the green grass jelly leaf infusion showed a significantly different mean number of writhing responses compared to the negative control group. Specifically, the negative control group exhibited an average of 84 writhes, whereas the positive control group showed 19.6 writhes. These findings suggest that the infusion of Cyclea barbata leaves possesses notable analgesic activity. The number of writhes observed in mice serves as an indicator of pain intensity in response to acetic acid-induced nociception. A lower number of writhes implies reduced pain perception, thereby reflecting a stronger analgesic effect.
2025-08-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmiah PANNMED (Pharmacist, Analyst, Nurse, Nutrition, Midwivery, Environment, Dentist)
