Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
The Editorial Team of AnLabMed Journal acknowledges that plagiarism is unacceptable (an act against the law). Therefore, the following policy is established to define specific actions (sanctions) to be taken when plagiarism is identified in an article submitted for publication in AnLabMed Journal.
Definition:
Plagiarism is the act, whether intentional or unintentional, of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or recognition for a scientific work by quoting, copying, or using part or all of another person’s work or scientific article and claiming it as one’s own, without providing proper and adequate citation of the source.
Therefore:
-
Articles must be original, have never been published before, and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
-
Any material taken verbatim from other sources must be clearly identified and distinguished from the original text.
If plagiarism is detected, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and determining the appropriate action based on the level of plagiarism detected, according to the following guidelines:
Levels of Plagiarism
-
Minor Plagiarism: Copying or reproducing a few short sentences from another article without proper citation.
-
Action: The author will receive a warning and be requested to revise the text and cite the sources correctly.
-
-
Major Plagiarism: Copying or reproducing a substantial portion of another article without proper citation or acknowledgment of the source.
-
Action: The submitted article will be rejected for publication in AnLabMed Journal, and the author(s) may be sanctioned by being prohibited from submitting to AnLabMed Journal in the future.
-
All authors are fully responsible for the content of the articles they submit, as they are required to sign a Publication Ethics Statement Form prior to submission. The acceptable plagiarism similarity index is a maximum of 20%. If the similarity exceeds this limit, all authors will be subject to the same sanction.
If an author is found to have submitted the same manuscript simultaneously to AnLabMed Journal and another journal, and such overlap is discovered during the review process or after publication, the action described in point 2 above will apply.
If any other form of plagiarism or ethical misconduct is found beyond the cases mentioned above, the AnLabMed Journal editorial board reserves the right to impose sanctions in accordance with the editorial team’s policy.
