PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG KB KALENDER DI DESA PURWODADI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS MULIOREJO KAB DELI SERDANG TAHUN 2026

Abstract

Maternal and Child Health (MCH) remains a national priority in Indonesia that requires solutions, as it is closely linked to the quality of human resources for future generations. One important aspect of MCH is family planning, where contraceptive methods play a significant role in regulating birth spacing and improving maternal health. One frequently used method is the Calendar Family Planning, which relies on menstrual cycle calculations to determine fertile and infertile periods. The objective of this study was to determine mothers' knowledge about the Calendar Family Planning. This study used a descriptive method, with a population of 40 mothers residing in Purwodadi Village, Muliorejo Community Empowerment Program’s Work Area, Deli Serdang Regency. The sampling technique used was total sampling, with the entire population being the sample. The results showed that 14 mothers (35%) had good knowledge about the Calendar Family Planning, and 15 (37,5%) had fair knowledge. Recommendations: Health services should intensify counseling and education programs related to the Family Planning in health care facilities and communities, and mothers should actively seek information related to maternal health, especially about the Calendar Family Planning.
