Hyperlipidemia is a non-communicable disease whose prevalence continues to increase, especially in the elderly, and plays a significant role in the risk of cardiovascular disease. This study aims to evaluate the characteristics of hyperlipidemia patients based on age and comorbidities, and assess the rationale for the use of antihyperlipidemic drugs in the Pharmacy Installation of Hospital in 2024. This study used a descriptive, non-experimental design with a cross-sectional approach. Samples were taken from medical records of outpatients and inpatients who received antihyperlipidemic drug prescriptions at the Pharmacy Installation of the Regional Hospital in 2024. The results showed that the 56-65 age group was the most likely group to suffer from hyperlipidemia, with the most common comorbidity being hypertension accompanied by stroke at 40% or 18 patients. The most commonly prescribed drug class was statin drugs, namely atorvastatin at 75.56%. Evaluation of the rationality of drug use showed that 45 hyperlipidemia patients received appropriate therapy based on 100% correct diagnosis, 100% correct disease indication, 100% correct drug selection, 95.56% correct dosage, and 100% correct administration method. This study emphasizes the importance of rational drug use to optimize hyperlipidemia therapy and prevent further complications. The use of antihyperlipidemic drugs in hyperlipidemia patients at the Pharmacy Unit of Regional Hospital in 2024 was largely rational.
