Abstract

Basic Life Support is effective if it is immediately carried out when the patient has a disorder that requires immediate action. The sooner the Basic Life Support is carried out, the greater the success rate of help, on the contrary the slower the level of success the smaller the help. This study aims to determine the relationship of the level of knowledge of nurses with the attitude of nurses working in emergency room installations about basic life support measures that refer to the American Heart Association (AHA) standards. The research method used is to use analytic research designs with survey methods and analyzed using the Chi Square test. The sample in this study were all nurses who performed nursing actions in the emergency room at Labuang Baji Hospital Makassar, amounting to 23 people. Chi Square test to test the relationship between these two variables produces a value of p: 0.014 compared to ?: 0.05, the p value is smaller so this means that Ho is rejected and there is enough evidence to accept Ha, meaning that there is a relationship between nurses 'knowledge and nurses' attitudes about management Basic Life Support in the emergency room of Labuang Baji Hospital Makassar. Researchers hope that the results of this study can be used as a reference in improving nursing services in terms of management knowledge of Basic Life Support.
