<p><strong>ABSTRAC</strong></p> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <p><strong>Background :</strong> Analgesic drugs have the effect of eliminating or reducing pain without loss of consciousness. One of drugs used is tramadol HCl</p> <p><strong>Purpose :</strong> The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of tramadol HCl&nbsp; &nbsp;accordance with the requirements of the pharmacopoeia Indonesia fourth edition 1995.</p> <p><strong>Research methods :</strong> Assay of tramadol HCl with semi nonaqueos titration used solvent mixture of ethanol and water with phenolphthalein indicator and titrate with NaOH cause pink discoloration.</p> <p><strong>Research results :</strong> The results showed that the semi nonaqueos titration method can be used and levels generic tramadol HCl PT. Indofarma (101,68% ± 1,37), tramadol HCl PT. Kimia Farma (103,10% ± 2,49) and branded drugs Tramal® (104,73% ± 2,55)&nbsp; and Tradosik® (106,06% ±1,56).</p> <p><strong>Conclusions : </strong>Content of tramadol which has been checked to meet the requirements standard of &nbsp;the Indonesian fourth edition pharmacopoeia &nbsp;which is not less than 90% and not more than 110% of the amount listed on the label.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><em>Keywords</em>: <em>Tramadol HCl, semi nonaqueos titration.</em></p>
